When you first got the news that your character would be in a wheelchair, how did you feel and what did you do to prepare for the new challenge? I did massive preparation for that particular shift in my character. Maybe one day we can sit down and discuss it in full…I’ll be at my house!

How do you manage to balance out working on the show and school? We do two hours of school work a day so it’s not too hard – I get most of my schoolwork done in that time. Also during the school year if I’m not working, I’m in school.

What do you hope the audience will get out of watching the show? I know that being a teenager can be really confusing sometimes and I just hope the audience can identify with it and feel like they’re not alone.

What was the most fun episode to shoot and what was the most intense? Probably the most fun episode to shoot was probably the Wasaga Beach one (“Back in Black”). It was a big one ‘cause Daniel Clarke was leaving so we all tried to make the most out of his last episode. The most intense stuff is all the fighting I get to do. It’s fun.

If you could choose one song to describe your life, what would it be? I’d have to say that “Lover You Should Have Come Over” by Jeff Buckley has been a life defining song more years than not.

What was the most fun episode to shoot and what was the most intense? Any night shoot we do is usually pretty crazy and fun. The most intense was 401/402 (Ghost in the Machine) for me – long days, challenging material – but it was worth it.

What was the most fun episode to shoot and what was the most intense? I still think “White Wedding” as a lot of fun because we shot in the summer, I had crazy hair and the locations were gorgeous. The most intense would probably be “Secret” because Emma was behaving out of character and I had to find the right balance of Emma’s virtuousness and the “new” Emma’s desperation.

If you weren’t an actor, what would you hope to have as your career? Probably a psychologist. Any job where I’m working with people on a personal level.

How do you manage to balance out working on the show and school? I manage, I don’t find it that difficult. I don’t let myself get stressed about it.

If you could time travel to another time, what time would you go to and why? The 50s. I’d start a gang called The Pink Ladies and date the leader of the T-Birds.

What is an issue that you feel very strongly about? I’m a pretty opinionated person so there are a few. I still think we have a long way to go.

What do you hope the audience will get out of watching the show? I hope our young audience will realize that there are other teenagers out there struggling with the same issues. You are seriously…seriously… not alone! And when you’re not alone, there is always help.

What was the most fun episode to shoot and what was the most intense? The most fun episode was “West End Girls” the year-end dance episode we got to dress up and look snazzy. The most intense for me, was “King of Pain” however I would have to say the shooting was the most intense filming of the year.

If you weren’t an actor, what would you hope to have as your career? I would be a lawyer. I’m all about debating, negotiating and being in court is kinda like being on stage.

How do you manage to balance out working on the show and school? I go to university in our time off and take sped-up courses.

If you could time travel to another time, what time would you go to and why? If I could time travel I would spend a week in every decade from 1900 to now. This way I could see how our world developed in one of the most prosperous centuries of all time. Wow, that was nerdy…true, but nerdy!

What do you think of vanilla- flavoured toothpaste? Toothpaste is meant to be refreshing and vanilla should stick to baked goods…and maybe coffee.

What was the most fun episode to shoot and what was the most intense? The car-wash episode was most fun or the one with Kevin and Jay. The most intense was the abortion episode. I had to keep my focus so long I got a headache.

What do you hope the audience will get out of watching the show? Well, hopefully morals, seeing as the show focuses on high school experiences and their worst-case scenarios. I guess it’s another kind of constant reminder to stay in school, obviously make the most of it while being responsible despite our surroundings.

What was the most fun episode to shoot and what was the most intense? My most fun episode was probably the one with the penis pump seeing as it was such a serious yet humourous concept with lots of embarrassing and funny scenes. My most intense episode was probably the one where JT and Danny fight because it was challenging to tackle.

What character from a book would you be most interested in playing if it was going to be made into a movie or mini-series? I’d probably play the role of “Momo” who is the main character in the book “Momo”, which is about a girl that saves the world from eternal suffering with her bravery and determination.

What is an issue that you feel very strongly about? Probably the environment. Though some pollution is necessary to our survival, I wish to reduce it as much as possible.

What character would you like to play if not your current character? I originally auditioned for Manny and I think she would be a very interesting character to play.

What do you hope the audience will get out of watching the show? I hope that teens will learn about issues relating to them and see that they are not alone. Whether they identify with a bad hair day or the more serious topics, it is important for them to feel supported. I also hope that parents use Degrassi to create a more open dialogue with their teens.

If you could choose one song to describe your life, what would it be? I certainly identify with the song “Strength, Courage & Wisdom” by India Arie.

Who’s your celebrity crush? Jesse Metcalf! He’s really good looking and seems like a down to earth kind of guy.

What character from a book would you be most interested in playing if it was going to be made into a movie or mini-series? I would want to play the Bride from Kill Bill. She’s all woman and kicks butt.

If you weren’t an actor, what would you hope to have as your career? I would like to be the CEO of an advertising agency because I like being in charge it’d be fun to be creative and sell products.

What reality TV show would you most want to be on? The Amazing Race. My best friend is really adventurous, so she would do the bungee jumping and I am really organized and I would work out flights etc. Plus I would get to travel to all those amazing places!

How do you manage to balance out working on the show and school? I go to an alternative school for students who are out of school a lot (like professional athletes, actors etc) so that makes it a lot easier to juggle school and acting. There are tutors on set who help us as well.

If you could time travel to another time, what time would you go to and why? The 60s because I could wear go-go boots and plastic dresses…oh and big hair!

What is an issue that you feel very strongly about? I am a youth activist.. I believe that the world underestimates the power that youth have to create change.

What do you think of vanilla- flavoured toothpaste? I think it is the most bizarre thing I have ever heard of, but yet I’m sure it would be really yummy. Although your mouth wouldn’t be minty fresh.

When you attended school were you involved in any extra-curricular activities such as the newspaper or sports team? I am president of a committee at my school, much like student council, that works on issues that effect youth at school, in the community and around the world. I am also involved with the drama club.

If you had magic running shoes that would let you run anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? I have always wanted to go to Rome. I think it would be so cool to look at and be a part of a city as ancient and with as much history as Rome.

If you could time travel to another time, what time would you go to and why? I would travel to medieval Europe. I’m very interested in that era of history and I think it would be cool to see castles and other medieval buildings as they were in the 14th and 15th century.
