Degrassi: The Next Generation - Season 6 (19 x 30 mins)
For the first time, the Degrassi series will follow its graduates as they enter university and discover life beyond high
school. The younger class, who are now in their final year of high school, get caught up in a vicious school rivalry that
will have life-altering affects on some of its students. In fact, this year a member of the regular cast will die. Produced

There will be a new character who is a 16 year-old single mother.

be returning as regular cast members.
Andrea Lewis (Hazel) will be returning as a guest star sometime in Season Six.

Storylines
- There will be a
"vicious school rivalry"
- A regular character
MIGHT die (Degrassi's Executive Producer has said that a character may or may not die).
- "For the first
time, the Degrassi series follows some of its graduates through university as they face the ups and downs of post-secondary
life. This season, Ellie, Paige, Marco and Craig experience a whole new series of challenges at another level."
- Ellie will be in
a relationship with an older man.
- Jimmy will "find
news ways to deal with his sexuality"
- A character will
end up in jail.
- A "social networking site becomes dangerous"
- There will be drag racing involved in one plot. The drag race will involve
a light blue Saab, an orange Acura Intergra and a modified Honda Civic coupe. The Saab will be driven by a "hotshot rich kid."
The drag race scene will be in the first episode of Season Six.
- Ellie will feature "a lot" in episodes 608 and 609.
- Craig will return from Vancouver sometime after the first six episodes.
- Jay will show more of his good side.
- Episodes 609 and 610 will feature a character "who is linked to music".
- Taking Back Sunday will be in two episodes (and one webisode); during these
two episodes Craig will feature, along with a character whose initials are "HS". During these same episodes, Manny and Ellie
will both play a part in the storyline.
Other
- There will be at least 19 webisodes.
- The theme song will remain the same (the Jakalope version) although it is being remixed and
there will be no vocals.
- There there will be an entirely different opening sequence. It will
feature shots of individual characters in the foreground with important scenes of them in the background.
- All episodes will be available (to Canadians only) online at ctv.ca after they have aired
on CTV.
- Episodes will be available (to Americans only) only at The-N.com after they have aired on
TV.
- The set of The Dot is being renovated.
